Our (non-existent) Kitchen: The Before

Hi everyone!  Hope y'all had a great weekend!  I had a nice long weekend at the beach for an annual mother/daughter trip my best friend and our moms take.  Back to reality now :)

I want to share with you guys some current/before pictures of the kitchen.  Construction is set to kick-off this Thursday; starting with some dry wall patching.  Enough rambling, here is what we are working with...

The previously foreclosed on owners decided to strip everything out of the kitchen.  This is a skeleton of what our kitchen will be!

The horrible fluorescent boxes will go.  We're hoping to add some can lights and a pendent or two.  This is the only light in the kitchen so we have to utilize it well.  (You'll have to excuse creeper Kyle.)

Here is the back side where the fridge will go.

Isn't that tile just lovely?!  NOT!  It goes so well with the salmon/coral/pepto bismol paint color they chose.

To the left there is the main part of the kitchen.  There is enough space here to create a little keeping room.  I want to use this wall as a focal point with a great piece of bold and colorful wallpaper.

And finally a shot from the living room into the kitchen.  Just at the windows in the back will be the eat-in area and to the left of the windows will be the keeping room.

I've got the wallpaper choices narrowed down.  Once that is finalized, we'll be able to choose paint colors and get to painting.  Hardwoods will be throughout the kitchen so we want to take care of all of the painting before those are laid.

Check back soon for more updates!

Cheers!

Welcome Home

Welcome to life at 108 Fawn Ridge Court!

Thanks for sharing in this journey.  My boyfriend, Kyle, and I just bought a foreclosure that needs a little (ok, maybe a LOT) of TLC.  We're first time homeowners and are over the moon excited to see where life takes us!  This will be my attempt to capture the transformation of our space into something beautiful, something we love, and the place we'll call home for quite some time :)

Kyle is an excited new homeowner :)

And here he is again at dusk.

Our first project will be tackling the kitchen.  I'll be back with some before pictures to give you an idea of what we are working with.

I would love to hear from all of you - tips, pointers, feedback, experience with this sort of thing.  Please don't be shy!

Cheers!
Stephanie
